We are well into the new year and that means we have already started the planning process for our largest fundraising event of the year! On Saturday, October 17, 2020, we will host our 17th Annual Reach for the Stars Gala at the Westin Copley Boston. The Gala brings together people who care: colleagues, neighbors, community members, and friends who are committed to making a difference and reaching beyond domestic violence. You can help raise the necessary funds to help support the very important work that we do in community – prevention and intervention – and shelter. View last year’s event photos here.
We are currently looking for dedicated and enthusiastic folks to join our Reach for the Stars Gala committee. Gala committee members partner with REACH staff, event partners, and Co-Chairs to achieve the financial and program goals for the Gala. Committee responsibilities include helping to identify and secure potential sponsors, securing auction items, and bringing people to the event. Some work is done at REACH, but the majority of the work happens independently outside of the office. Our committee members are encouraged to attend our 6-hour domestic violence training, which includes sessions on Domestic Violence 101 and Trauma 101, to understand the philosophy that informs our work and to be aligned with REACH’s philosophy/ goals.
