Holiday Gift Program
Give the gift of hope during the holidays.
REACH Holiday Gift Program
Every year, REACH works with local donors, community members, volunteers, and supporting organizations to provide gifts to our survivor clients and their families during the holiday season. We recognize that it can sometimes be hard for survivors to purchase and/or obtain items on their own, which is why we're happy to organize the annual Holiday Gift Program. On average, the Holiday Gift Program supports over 200 individual families in REACH's service area.
*Please Note: We are no long accepting donations for our 2025 Holiday Gift Program. However, the program will return during the 2026 holiday season!
How Can You Support the Holiday Gift Program?
Make a Financial Contribution: The Holiday Gift Program starts at the end of October and runs until mid-December. Supporters can donate directly to the program by navigating to our donate page and selecting the Holiday Gift Program in the 'Designate your gift' drop-down menu. These financial donations are used to purchase gift cards which are then given to REACH survivors and their families so they can purchase their own gifts. The deadline for financial donations is Thursday, December 4.
Donate to the Giving Space: The survivors REACH serves also have the option to select items of particular meaning to them in the "Giving Space". This includes in-kind items that have been donated, such as toys, games, art supplies, household items, toiletries, winter jackets, and clothes. Creating a space where survivors can choose gifts for themselves and their children furthers REACH's mission to create space for empowerment.
If you'd like to donate items to the Giving Space, a list of in-kind items we're accepting is available via our Holiday Gift Program flyer (the flyer is also available in Spanish). We unfortunately can't accept drop-in donations, but you can coordinate a donation drop-off by contacting our development team at development@reachma.org. The deadline for in-kind Giving Space donations is Thursday, December 4.
The Impact of Providing Gifts to Survivors
Escaping a domestic violence situation can put significant strain on a survivor's finances, especially if they're also taking care of young children or other family members. The Holiday Gift Program is designed to ease the financial burden of providing gifts for the holiday season while also ensuring basic needs are met. Gift cards have been a particularly impactful resource for survivor clients. Being able to go out and purchase their own gifts helps them feel
empowered during a vulnerable time in their lives.
If you'd like to help with the Holiday Gift Program beyond providing donations, we encourage you to sign up as a REACH volunteer. Our volunteers are integral in ensuring the Holiday Gift Program runs smoothly, and there are plenty of ways you can contribute and make the holidays a much brighter time for our survivor clients!
