Thanks to more than 250 generous supporters – both corporate partners and individuals – we were able to meet our goal of providing $100 Target gift cards for each person participating in our Holiday Gift program. This program supports more than 300 families (850 adults and children) and these gift cards enabled these families to shop for gifts, as well as essential items like household goods, groceries, or cleaning supplies.
Earlier in the year, we made the difficult decision to focus the program on donations of Target gift cards in order to ensure the safety of staff, donors, volunteers, and survivors alike. With social distancing COVID guidelines in place, we also had to cancel our traditional holiday party for survivors. Despite the cancellation, we were able to share holiday joy by creating a video that featured holiday crafts, a visit from Santa, and a holiday message from REACH staff and volunteers. When talking about the Holiday Gift Program, one survivor stated, “I wanted to let you know how much of a difference you are making in our lives.”
Without the kindness and support of you, our amazing supporters, none of this would have been possible. Thank you for doing so much to brighten the holiday season and help Holiday Gift continue, despite the pandemic. Your generosity also helps us provide important services to survivors and communities all year long. Together, you help embody our value: we’re all in this together.
