At the start of every school year, we are so grateful to provide backpacks full of school supplies to the children of survivors who we work with in our Shelter and Community Programs. This year, School on Wheels of Massachusetts and Vestmark donated over 300 backpacks and supplies for children who have been affected by domestic violence. Our Training Room is now packed with backpacks, and we are filled with gratitude!
Over the next few weeks, we will be distributing these backpacks to families as students head off for a new year of school. The outpouring of generosity from our supporters means so much. Children who come from homes where domestic violence is present already face extraordinary challenges learning in school and adjusting socially. By making sure they have the supplies they need, at least one barrier is removed. These students are now equipped with the strong foundation they need for a great academic year!
