Volunteering with REACH is a rewarding and enriching experience! Our goal is to meet the needs of survivors through staff and volunteer service. We offer opportunities for volunteers to grow and become part of the movement to end domestic violence. Without our dedicated volunteers, REACH would not be able to do all the work we do.
REACH is currently accepting applications for new volunteers to join the REACH Summer Training Series, beginning May 24th. Roles include:
- Community Outreach Volunteer (In-person): The needs of survivors can change in an instant, and community outreach volunteers are there to help connect survivors with necessities donated to REACH. These volunteers offer administrative and logistical support for our advocacy program by cataloguing donations, delivering essentials to survivors, and organizing food boxes once a month.
- House Maintenance Volunteer (In-person): Do you want to volunteer your time and talents, but prefer to be behind the scenes? House Maintenance Volunteers are based at our shelter and help us provide a welcoming environment for shelter guests. Tasks for this position vary and include assistance with landscaping, picking up orders from the Greater Boston Food Bank, and picking up and sorting donations, as well maintaining the cleanliness of the shelter. Volunteers may choose to volunteer in specific roles or float between several. Though this role is not necessarily direct service oriented, many volunteers build relationships with survivors while tackling tasks together.
- Online Chat Volunteer (Virtual): Are you interested in helping survivors and information seekers in a virtual space? REACH has created an online platform to provide confidential support to the community and survivors. Volunteers sign on for four hour shifts and respond to messages as needed. With the support of staff and their peers, volunteers can have conversations in the safety of their home, while feeling connected to the organization and those in the community. This role is a virtual afternoon/evening position. Bilingual individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.
